In Loving Memory of Alexander C. Romanzi Sr.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alexander C. Romanzi Sr., who passed away peacefully at his home in Orlando, Florida, on July 12, 2026, at the age of 64. He was surrounded by the love of his family—his devoted wife of 33 years, Jacqueline C. Romanzi, and their children, Alexander Jr. and Sydney.
Born on December 9, 1961, and raised in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York, Alex dedicated his career to serving others as a proud New York City Police Officer before retiring. Following his years of service, he continued to pursue new opportunities with the same determination and work ethic that defined his life, embracing a variety of business ventures and careers while always putting his family first.
Beyond his service, he will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, quick wit, and unforgettable sense of humor. He had a deep love for baseball, was a passionate music enthusiast and guitarist. He found great joy in attending concerts with his daughter, as well as spending countless hours together watching their favorite television shows. He also cherished the time he spent watching wrestling and sharing that passion with his son, creating memories together that will be treasured forever. His love for family, laughter, and music created countless cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Alex is survived by his beloved wife, Jacqueline C. Romanzi; his son, Alexander C. Romanzi Jr.; his daughter, Sydney L. Romanzi; his father, Ignatius Romanzi; and his sister, Elena Rizzuti, and her husband, Phil; as well as his cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Liotta Romanzi.
The family will be holding a small private ceremony to celebrate and honor Alex’s life and memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Amazin’ Mets Foundation in Alex’s honor, as a tribute to his lifelong love of baseball. Alex was a huge Mets fan, and baseball held a special place in his heart throughout his life.
