Obituary for Beverly Seay

Beverly Ann Seay, born in Fayetteville, North Carolina in 1945 to Robert and Edna Svatba, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025.

Beverly's father was stationed at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville. Shortly after her birth, Beverly and her family moved to Astoria, Queens, New York. She moved to Florida in the 1970s, where she built a life filled with love, faith, and kindness. In 1980, she gave birth to her pride and joy, Mary, beginning her most treasured role as a devoted mother. Beverly was also an adoring Nana, and a beloved friend to all who crossed her path.

Beverly was an amazing gift from God whose presence touched countless lives with her grace, wisdom, kindness, and gentle spirit. To know her was to know true generosity, compassion, and love. She had a selfless and beautiful soul—always ready to help anyone in need, never hesitating to give away her most treasured possessions if it meant brightening someone else’s day. Known for her open heart, she would often remove her own jewelry—earrings, bracelets, or necklaces—and place them in the hands of anyone who admired them, a reflection of her belief that kindness should always be met with kindness.

Above all, Beverly loved her family and carried them close to her heart, mind, and soul. She found joy in the simplest of moments—working on puzzles, thrift shopping, seeking spiritual guidance, and continually deepening her knowledge of God. Her greatest happiness was found in time with her grandchildren, picking them up from school, cheering them on at games, and rarely missing a single event. Beverly lived, breathed, and loved her daughter Mary with every fiber of her being. Together, their bond made life’s struggles lighter, lifting each other with unwavering support.

Through her life, Beverly taught kindness, compassion, and faith. She had a way of making people feel whole, as though nothing was impossible when you were in her presence. Her legacy is carried on in the lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the countless acts of love she gave freely.

Beverly is survived by her devoted daughter Mary Soto, her son-in-law Jaime Soto, her beloved grandchildren Dominic and Mia, her brother Russell, her niece Megan, and her amazing dog Meeka—who was as spoiled as she was loved. It remains uncertain whether Beverly saved Meeka or Meeka saved Beverly, but their bond was undeniable. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Svatba, mother Edna Svatba, brother Robert, nephew Chris, and husband Wayne.

As a tribute in her honor: Live wisely, love deeply, always stay positive, lean on God and be the light.
