Brian McDermott, age 57, of Oviedo, Florida, originally from Shaler Township, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Brian on Thursday August 28, 2025. Beloved husband of Charlene McDermott (Townsend); loving father of Delaney, Shane, Brianna, and Kiera. Dearest son of the late Paul H. and Rose M. McDermott and much-loved brother of Kathleen (David) Nauer, Paul (Karen) McDermott, Timothy (Sandra) McDermott, Mark (Patricia) McDermott, and Thomas (Regina) McDermott. Son-in-law to Charles and Anna Mae Townsend, brother-in-law of Deniene Gillis, Scott (Christine) Townsend, and Heather (Gary) Waite. Brian is also survived by a loving extended family, including many cherished nieces and nephews.
Brian was known for his love of storytelling and his ability to make us laugh. He will live on in our hearts.
The family will host a celebration of life for friends in Oviedo, Florida; and will also hold a service in Pittsburgh including a Funeral Mass at St. Bonaventure Church, on Mt. Royal Blvd on Saturday September 27, 2025 at 1:00pm followed by a reception for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for the future needs and education of Brian and Charlene's children.
