Brien Lawrence Moody, 41, of Mims, Florida, passed away tragically on June 9, 2026, in a head-on car collision while driving his daughter to school. The other driver lost control of their vehicle and crossed into Brien's lane. Brien’s 15-year-old daughter, Jenna, was a passenger and sustained injuries but has since been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.
Born on November 24, 1984, Brien grew up with a love for math that led him to earn his Bachelor of Science degree at University of South Florida and build a career as an accountant, most recently at Tigarbrain Engineering. He had a lifelong passion for music and singing, played soccer from the age of six, and enjoyed golf. Brien always greeted people with a smile, and his legendary sense of humor could light up any room. Above all, he was a devoted father whose greatest love and joy was his daughter Jenna. He cherished every moment with her and was deeply committed to being the best dad possible.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard A. Moody, who passed away on October 15, 2023.
Brien is survived by his beloved daughter, Jenna Moody; his mother, Doreen Moody; his brothers, Jeremiah, Joshua, and Benjamin Moody; his partner, Melissa Russell; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces & nephew, and cousins throughout the United States and around the world.
A Celebration of Life service for Brien will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Methodist Church of Oviedo, located at 263 King Street, Oviedo, FL 32765.
