Claire Deborah McLaughlin beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away January 12, 2024 at the age of 82.
Claire was born in 1941 to Leo and Claire Hurney. She was the oldest of four siblings: Leo Jr, Dennis and Denise. Claire grew up in Hyde Park, Massachusetts, where she attended Ste Jean d’Arc Academy and Hyde Park High School. After graduating from Mt. Ida College, she went on to complete the nursing program at Southeastern Regional.
Claire spent many years working as a dedicated nurse at Brockton Hospital, where she provided compassionate care. Later in life she moved to Florida and found her true passion in Hospice nursing. Claire cherished being able to provide comfort and support to patients and families during difficult times.
In her personal life, Claire was a devoted mother to her three children: Dana, Ronnie and Debbie. She always put her family first and more than anything, loved being “Noonie” to her grandchildren: Yahn, Kyle and Sarah.
Claire was always the life of the party and was no stranger to the dance floor. She was actively involved in volunteer work, giving back to organizations like Sight. She touched countless lives with her vibrant personality, kindness and zest for life. Her beautiful smile and laugh were nothing short of infectious.
While Claire leaves behind her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews and many dear friends she is now reunited with her loved ones lost over the years. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her memory be a blessing to those she loved.
A service will be held in her honor at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Lake Mary Florida on Friday, January 26th at 1pm. Please join her family and friends in celebrating the life of such an amazing person.
