Obituary for David Stender
David Eugene Stender of Oviedo FL, age 75, went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2022. He was preceded by his parents Eugene and Eva Stender and his sister-in-law Gloria Stender. David is survived by his wife Mary; children: Lisa Martell, Lee (Sari) Stender, Kevin Stender, and Michelle (Richard) Sneed; grandchildren: Keanu Martell, Brett Stender, Olivia Stender, Emilie Sneed, Colin Sneed, Bree Stender, and Chloe Stender; great-granddaughter: Avery Martell; siblings: Dale Stender, Craig (Susan) Stender, Chris (Joyce) Stender, Terrance Stender, Gordon Stender, Mark (Linda) Stender, and Elaine (Joe) White; and many nieces and nephews.

David grew up as the oldest of eight siblings in Kalamazoo, Michigan. After two years in the Army, he met his wife Mary at Western Michigan University. David and Mary raised their four kids beginning in Colorado Springs and then Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Atlanta. David and Mary followed most of their children’s migration to the Sunshine State where they settled in Oviedo, FL. David enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting and music events as well as family get-togethers and time with his local church family. David was known for his positive attitude, easy going personality, love of his family, and his strong Christian faith. During the past two years David loved his daily visits to the park where he would read, reflect, and go for a walk around the lake.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 5, 2022: A viewing for family and friends will be held at Waterstone Fellowship church in Oviedo FL from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM. Please join us for a Celebration of Life service at Tuscawilla Country Club in Winter Springs, FL at 12:00 PM where hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served.
