David Harold Robertson, beloved Father and Coach, passed away peacefully in the evening of 22 May 2024, at the age of 78 in Orlando, Florida. He was born on 3 October 1945 in Attleboro, Massachusetts, to his loving parents June and William Stewart.
Dave will be remembered by many for his dedication to his family and coaching. Dave was an elite athlete, competing at the highest level being a part of the 1968 USA Olympic Team. His experience in athletics and his desire to help kids enrich their lives led to the creation of a significant rowing program in the Puget Sound which still is in existence to this day. Even near the end of his life, Dave was consistently working to find ways to help the kids.
Dave found ways to live life to the fullest, never passing on the opportunity to be a bit extra. Dave always found a way to enrich the lives of those around him, whether that was through his bright style, his calming personality, or his ability to make all feel welcome. Dave cared most about his family and is survived by his son, Garrison, his daughter, Rosie, and his grand daughter, Stella. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Host of Plainville, MA and brother, Steven of Minot, ME and their families. He loved spending time with his family.
In honor of Dave’s memory, a Celebration of Life will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Attleboro, MA on 29 June 2024 following a private service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
A special message of gratitude is extended to the doctors, nurses, and staff members at Winter Park Advent Health hospital. Your dedication to care and compassion provided comfort to Dave and his family during his final days. Additionally, a special message of gratitude to MJ Pavillion in Oviedo, FL for providing such excellent care in Dave’s final residence. Thank you for compassion and support for David.
David Harold Robertson’s legacy of love, strength, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of those who knew Dave best. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love and memories that he created through his remarkable life.
