Obituary for Diane Kaye Boese

Diane Kaye Boese, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend, passed away after an uncomplaining and heroic 18-month battle with cancer on June 3rd, 2025 in Winter Park, FL. Born December 2nd, 1956 in Harvey, ND, Diane lived a life filled with laughter, wit, kindness and compassion.

Diane was a powerful source of joy who energized each room she entered and uplifted every person she encountered. She had a passion for service and focused on making things better for others. She worked to put her husband through college. She raised and loved her family and organized a home. She volunteered at elementary schools to help children. She diligently engaged in neighborhood associations to improve the community. She was a faithful member of her church who could always be counted on to support missions or outreach to the less fortunate. Her infectious smile, warmth and willingness to actively listen made her a source of counsel and support that touched the lives of all who knew her. She loved the beach and always took the time to marvel at the glorious displays of sunrise and sunset.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Norman Boese, who was smitten by her in high school and never recovered, Mother Beverly Larson, brothers Jay, Steven and Craig Larson, son Nathan (Elizabeth) Boese, daughter Caralyn (Neil) Moore, and five grandchildren: Emma, Blake, Julia, Austin and Brody. Diane was preceded in death by her Father Kermit.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First United Methodist Church of Oviedo, FL on July 11th, 2025 at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Second Harvest Food Bank, a cause that Diane supported each time she noticed her grocery bill was high.

Diane’s memory will live on in the hearts of all lucky enough to know her and her legacy of love will echo through generations.

The family is thankful for all the prayers, cards, letters, flowers, food, and visits provided through this difficult time. A special thanks to the many kind caregivers at the Florida Cancer Specialists who were so actively invested in Diane’s care.
