Donna Catherine Snell Reed January 29th, 1960 - December 13th, 2025 Donna Catherine Snell Reed passed away peacefully on December 13th, 2025 surrounded by her children and siblings. Donna was born in Canton, Connecticut and lived her childhood years in Ohio and Maryland as well. As a child she loved skiing, swimming, singing in the church choir, and visiting her grandparents in Cape Cod and Northern NJ. She spent many childhood summers on the Outer Banks of North Carolina where her family had a beach home. She loved babysitting and always said she couldn’t wait to be a mother. She graduated from Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Maryland. She started her work life with PEPCO and then transitioned to a career in marketing at Marriott Hotels headquartered in Maryland. For the last 20 years she was with Siemens Energy in Oviedo, Fl. There she worked for the Global Brand Engagement team and the North American Communications team. She was planning to retire in 2027. Her greatest joy in life was raising her two children, Melissa Davis, and son, Matthew Reed, in Oviedo, FL. While raising them she had a daycare business so she could spend time with them. She was a Girl Scout leader and was often seen at her son’s baseball games and daughter’s cheerleading events. Later she became a very devoted grandmother or “Mimi” to three grandchildren: Hayden, Julian and Catherine. Her favorite things to do with them were swimming, hanging at the beach and playing card games with “13” being her favorite. Donna was very active in her religious life and was a member of River Run Christian Church. In Chuluota, Fl. She joined their weekly bible study group and helped with collections and other volunteer activities. She was also a bi-weekly volunteer at Chuluota Resource Center Food Pantry. The Center provides children with breakfast and lunch throughout the summers and weekend food during the school year. A few weeks ago, she brought her grandchildren to the Center to assist with the food packaging. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Catherine and Ronald Snell. She is survived by her children, Melissa Davis (Jon) and Matthew Reed (Skyler); grandchildren, Hayden, Julian and Catherine; sisters, Linda Abravanel (Neal) and Karen Dempster; brother, Michael Snell (Kim); half-brother, Michael Gatter; nieces Allyssa Dempster, Alexandra Abravanel, Peyton Snell; nephews, Eric Abravanel and Corey Snell; and grandnephew Daniel. Donna‘s life was loving and full. She loved to sing songs from Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles. She and her friends would share a night of laughter and wine while singing “Red, Red Wine”. In her free time, she gardened, traveled and spent time with friends and family. When her children were young, she had a Pampered Chef business as she loved to cook and share her knowledge. She also worked briefly in the front office of Jackson Heights Middle School which her children both attended. Family was everything and Donna was the family hub of the siblings and nieces and nephews. The annual get togethers for Christmas and summer beach weeks were her highlights. A Celebration of Life will be held at the end of January in Florida.
