Douglas Paul Bear, 56, passed away on May 16, 2026. Born on November 3, 1969, Doug lived life full throttle, with a heart as big as his love for motorcycles, fast cars, and adventure.
Doug loved working on cars, riding motorcycles, fixing all things and traveling whenever he had the chance. One of the things he looked forward to most each year was making trips to Bike Week with his brother RJ and his father. Those trips were some of his favorite memories, filled with laughter, stories, and plenty of shenanigans.
Doug was the kind of person who would help anyone at any time, no matter the hour or circumstance. His fun-loving spirit, generous heart, and larger-than-life personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was always searching for the next adventure and never missed an opportunity to make people laugh.
He is survived by his parents, Ronald Bear and Dorothy Bear of Gilmer, TX; his life partner, Kimmy Newton; his children, Kasey Bear, Joseph Bear, Danielle Bear Walton and her husband Anthony Walton, and Jasmine Bear; and his siblings, RJ Bear, Christmas, FL Pattie Bear, and Joanne Hittle both of Gilmer, TX.
