Obituary for Edith Smith
On September 3rd, 2020, Edith Mary Smith peacefully passed away at the age of 93. Edith was born to, late father, Clyde Dingman and, late mother, Mary Markwell on July 22, 1927, in Eastman, Quebec. She was the 3rd of six children born into the Dingman household. Edith met and married George Smith (September 13, 1920 – April 10, 1996) on May 29, 1957. They had two children, Son, Dwight Smith, and, late daughter, Rhonda Durham (April 12, 1960 – December 24, 2011). Edith dedicated her life to serving others through her work as a nurse and through the Forest Lake Seventh-Day Adventist church where she was a member. Edith left behind many who loved and cared for her including her devoted, son, Dwight Smith, wife, Cindy Broadway, granddaughters, Meghan Smith and Morgan Durham, little brothers, Reginald and Bryan Dingman, extended family, nieces, Margery Sullivan, Gloria Adeoga, Brenda Perdue, Elsie Magoon, nephews, Harold Dingman, Reginald Dingman Jr, David Dingman, Victor Dingman, Gordon Dingman, Douglas Dingman. At the request of the family, a service will not be held, her ashes will remain in the residence of Dwight Smith and Cindy Broadway till when the time comes that where she can be buried in her family plot in Canada.
