Emma “June” Stafford
(1937-2023)
Emma June Stafford, 86, of Oviedo, Florida, died after an extended illness, surrounded by her loving family, on November 12, 2023. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, adored grandmother, and a great grandmother like no other! Jesus shined in her life brightly to all her family, friends, coworkers, and everyone she came in contact with including her amazing medical team.
June was born in Plant City, Florida in 1937 to John Lewis Connor and Mary Arrie Croft. She was the youngest of five siblings whom she adored: Dot, Buck, Rudy, and Bob, all preceding her in death.
June met Jack Stafford in 1972, fell in love, and married in Melbourne, Florida. They created a blended family of his three children Grady (preceded in death) , Gisselle, and Tom along with her five daughters Kay, Cindy , Kathy , Elaine, and Lea Etta, and then two years later Dotie was born. This remarkable blending of HIS, HERS, AND OURS, created a family of nine that mom lovingly cared for, cooked for, and nurtured with all she had!
And oh how her family grew! June’s family expanded rapidly as her adored son-in-law’s: Dennis, Stub, Tom, Gulshan, Phil, Roberto, and Fred were welcomed in. June also lovingly welcomed her daughter-in-law’s Maureen and Heather. June was blessed through these family additions with 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Her Grandchildren are: Neil, Michael, Johnny (preceded in death), Chrissy, Russ (Janel), Rachael (Brian), Stephen (Kristie), Cristina (Craig), Charles (Jenny), Shaila (Sebastian), Shivana (JJ), Jason (Heather), Josh, LeaAnna, Isaac (Jaycee), and Emma. Her grand “fur babies” are Dixie and Jasmine. Then from these grandchildren came her adored Greats: Kayne, Kull, Lavinia, Wyatt, Parker, Greyson, Lucy, Libby, Lyndee, Madeline, Ella Grace, Sadie, Jordan, Lydia, Leo, Sophia, CeCe, Shyla, Hayden, Gunner, Rowan, Lailea Kait.
June lived in Marble, NC for over 20 years where she worked as a Daycare teacher. She was such a natural at this profession and was instrumental in helping her Center being awarded a 5 Star Rating, which is the highest Quality rating you can receive. She was still influencing children’s lives well into her 70’s. Two years ago she and Jack moved back to Florida and lived out her final days in the loving and caring home of her youngest daughter Dotie and her incredible partner Lolo.
June was the last living matriarch of her sibling’s children leaving so many beloved nieces, nephews, and greats! They all adored her too! She loved staying in touch with everyone through, Facebook, Instagram, and SnapChat! She loved social media as it kept her connected even up until her final days!
June loved her family BIG, with every fiber in her body, and is leaving us with BIG shoes to fill! She never gave up in life no matter how rough or hard her circumstances were! In her memory we will all try our BEST to live our lives like she did! We celebrate that June is in her heavenly home now and we look forward to the day we will see her again! She was of the Baptist faith!
