Obituary for James Dennis Marlow Jr

James Dennis Marlow Jr. (Jim), 73, passed away on Wednesday, January 12th, 2023 from his courageous battle with heart disease. Born in Michigan in 1949 to James D. Marlow, a United States Air Force veteran, and his wife Elizabeth, of Munich GE, and was the first of two children. Known as “Denny” to his family, Jim was raised in Florida, and would eventually retire there, after proudly serving in the United States Army and going on to work at Hewlett-Packard for over 30 years.

Jim loved caring for people, and especially enjoyed making them laugh. He loved gardening and had an enviable green thumb. He generously gave away his harvest to family, friends, and neighbors. Jim highly valued honor and bravery and was an avid history buff who loved sharing trivia and stories, especially regarding WWII. He was thoughtful and generous with his time and talents and would always be found at get togethers behind his video recorder or camera capturing people in the midst of life - memories cherished for a lifetime. Jim loved his family deeply and thoroughly enjoyed spending his free time with his children, grandchildren and their extended families. Jim loved his pets, giving equal time to both dogs and cats (and many other animals). He was an amazing storyteller; always offering his personal experience or an interesting insight to even the most minute of topics. Jim’s laugh was infectious, and he relished the opportunity to be the center of, or life of, the party.

Jim leaves behind a loving family who will miss him beyond measure: his wife of 52 years, Linda Marlow, daughter, Angie Moore (Jim), son, Chris Marlow (Yamina), 2 grandchildren and his only sister, and close friend, Elizabeth Beliveau (Rob).

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to either Wounded Warrior, the Beagle Freedom Project, or International Justice Mission.
