Jean Naomi Rushton passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Sunday, February 2nd, following the loss of her beloved husband, John, two weeks earlier. Their bond of love and devotion remained strong throughout their lives and continued even in their passing.
Jean was a determined worker who spent much of her early life balancing multiple jobs, even holding down three at once. She finally settled into accounts payable at the Faulkner Hospital in Boston, now Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, where she enjoyed a long and fulfilling career.
Jean had a love for travel and especially enjoyed cruising with her husband, John, and their grandchildren. She treasured the memories created with her family on these trips, and her love for them was evident in every moment spent together. Jean also had a well-known love for coffee, proudly considering herself a "coffee-holic"—a small joy that brightened her days.
In addition to her love for family and travel, Jean was passionate about genealogy and spent many years tracing her family tree, connecting with her roots and preserving her family's history.
Jean is survived by her granddaughter, Leyla, and her children, Devin, Maximus, Willow, and great-great-grandson Finley Michael, as well as John’s nieces and nephews: Theresa Bailey (AZ), LeeAnn Perry (NH, Goddaughter), Mark Rushton (CO), Kerri Spring (TX), and Matthew Rushton (NH). She was predeceased by her mother, Mary Brink of Saugus, MA, and her father, Frank Weiderman of Gloucester, MA.
A joint memorial service will be held at a later date to honor both Jean and John’s lives and bring them home to the family burial lot in Marlborough, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the National Genealogical Society. Contributions can be made at https://www.ngsgenealogy.org/donate/
