Obituary for Kenneth Mikesell
Kenneth "Ken" Rae Mikesell, 70, passed away on May 11, 2022, at his home in Winter Springs, Florida. He was born on March 4, 1952, in Richmond, Indiana. He grew up across the state line in Dayton, Ohio. His father, Verlin, mother, Marguerite, and sister, Judy Mikesell Nicholl preceded him in death.
After a family move to Florida in his teens, Ken was a graduate of Mainland High School in Daytona Beach. He spent several years as a banker in Gainesville before his career at Goodlife Broadcasting in Orlando where he was the President and General Manager. Ken loved the Lord and he loved people, especially his family. He spread the love of Jesus on the air at TV52 and TV45 for over thirty years.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy of Winter Springs; son Greg (Kristen) Mikesell of Winter Springs; son Steve (Tameka) Mikesell of Longwood; brothers Ron and Gary of Hermosa Beach, CA; and grandchildren Makayla, Grace, Madison, Jack, Mylie and Kate.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, July 9 at 10 am at Henry Chapel at First Baptist Church of Orlando. Located at 3000 S. John Young Pkwy. All are invited to celebrate Ken’s life and legacy.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Florida Children’s Home.
