Larry Otis Sledge (Poppy), a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on June 12th 2024 at the age of 74.
Born on July 28th 1949 in Roswell, NM, Larry was a devoted and loving family man whose warmth, generosity, and steadfast spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a pillar of strength for his family and friends, always ready with a helping hand and open heart.
He honorably served in the US Army during the Vietnam War in the 1st Cavalry Division. Upon his return, he dedicated 28 years of service and retired from Orlando Utilities Commission.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila, who stood by his side for 43 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
He leaves behind his children: daughter Sherry Cinicola husband Ralph, daughter Katelyn Mullins husband Nick and son Hunter Sledge wife Danielle. Larry is also survived by his brother, Elton Sledge, and his wife Janet.
Larry's legacy lives on in his adored grandchildren: Andrew wife Hailey, Kyle, Riley, Hudson, Lucas, Evelyn, and Kennedy, who brought immense joy to his life and whom he loved deeply.
Larry will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his kind heart, and his ability to make everyone feel loved. His absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt, but his spirit and the lessons he imparted will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
