Obituary for Lucinda Lovelace

Lucinda Kell Lovelace. Cinda. Mom. Aunt Cinda. Grandma.

Her smile was contagious, and laughter and joy filled every room she occupied. No one escaped her notice, care, or generosity. Lucinda was born to Douglas and Roberta Kell in the Ohio Valley on July 28, 1958. She is remembered by her husband Garry; children Adrienne Lovelace, Alina and Kyle Hanna, Annah and Joshua Eick, and Anderson and Rachel Lovelace; her grandchildren Kaylee, Callahan, Conrad, Harrison, Lucille, Garrett, Emmett, and Silas (due to arrive in December); her older siblings Ron Kell and Karol Eastman; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

All through school, Lucinda was excellent in her academics. This made her the best tutor for the little ones she raised, including her nieces and nephews. She loved to share her strengths with others and many educational degrees came from her foundational instruction and support.

After high school, she moved to Florida and quickly became involved in her church while she worked as a banker. She met her husband Garry while attending the church's young adult activities. Her inquisitive mind and outgoing demeanor captured his attention. The two were married on June 5, 1982. She loved being Garry’s helpmate, and as their family grew in size, so did their love of God. She took great pride in her children and instilled in each of them a love for Jesus and strong family bonds.

Lucinda loved people and made friendships everywhere she went. She had many ‘adopted children.’ Family get-togethers, volunteering, and giving to others brought her great joy. During family get-togethers, where there was always room at the table for one more, she would laugh and, in her lively way, recount the events of the day. Every summer, she orchestrated the family's plans to attend their beloved Hollow Rock Camp in Ohio. She spent countless hours pouring into others at Bible Study Fellowship, her church’s Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, life group classes, and newlywed couples mentoring. She listened intently to her friends and found ways to meet the needs of those around her. As her heart was filled with those God had brought into her life, so was her outpouring of encouragement, generosity, care, and love. Throughout her entire life, Lucinda held firmly to her faith and supported others with scripture and prayer during every season. The only thing she loved more than her family and friends was her Savior, Jesus Christ. As Lucinda will be so very missed here, she is rejoicing with her parents, Douglas and Roberta, and her sister Joyce Kell, who have gone before her to the realms of Glory.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Belle Isle Community Church (formerly known as Pine Castle United Methodist Church) on October 7, 2023, at 2:30 PM. Light refreshments and fellowship will immediately follow the service.
