Michael Dewayne Wadley passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. He is preceded in death by his mother, Goldie 'Lorene' (Haney) Husdon, and father, Edward Dewayne Wadley.
Michael was born in Dyer, TN and he grew up in Huntsville, AL, until his senior year in high school when his family relocated to Titusville, FL.
In early adulthood, Michael served in the United States Army as a Specialist during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Ethiopia working with the Army Security Agency, responsible for signals intelligence and security.
After the Army, Michael graduated from UCF in 1979 with a degree in Economics. He would ask every young person he met "Do you go to UCF?" and would start a conversation about his time there and ask what they were majoring in. He was very proud of having attended UCF, and made sure to tell everyone.
Michael always wanted to help create beautiful communities and help people within those communities. He spent most of his adult life working as an Urban Land Planner and was part of the American Institute of Certified Planners. He worked on many projects throughout the years with the State of Florida, Department of Transportation, Habitat for Humanity, Regional Planning Council, and many more.
Michael is survived by his wife, Jerry Wadley; sister, Michele (Bill) Arena; children, Aaron (Sarah) Wadley, Joshua (Brandi) Wadley, Sarah Wadley; and grandchildren Max, Timothy, Emma, Joshua (JR), and Jeremiah.
Memorial will be held on July 12, 2025 at Ascension Lutheran Church (351 Ascension Dr, Casselberry, FL 32707).
