Michael Patrick McCormick 6/24/47 – 10/29/25
Michael Patrick McCormick, 78, formerly of Wakefield and Narragansett, RI, passed away with his loving family by his side at Sonata Lake Mary Memory Care Center on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
He was born in Providence, Rhode Island to James F. McCormick and Florence A. (Kozusko) McCormick. Michael forged lifelong friendships growing up in Providence. Mike graduated from LaSalle Academy in 1965 and was accepted into the Rhode Island Radio and Electronics School. In 1967, Michael started his illustrious career with Raytheon at their site in Vicenza, Italy where he spent 4 years before returning to Raytheon’s Portsmouth division. Additionally, Michael went on to study at Roger Williams University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering in 1978. Michael joined Raytheon’s corporate staff in 1993 as Deputy Director of Raytheon Quality Corporate Experience attaining full directorship in 1994. After 36 years of service, Michael retired in August 2002.
Besides his parents, Michael was also predeceased by his former spouse Linda (McLeod) McCormick (1948 – 2025) and many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. He is survived by his sister Eileen (McCormick) Hannon (John), daughters Laurie Litman (Mark), Kristen McCormick and Melissa Falco (Bernard); 10 Grandchildren Kyle ( Sarah), Marissa, Rachel, Ryan, Casey, Michael, Adriana, Blake, Joshua and Jennifer; and 5 great grandchildren Josephine, Julian, Lucy, Lucas and Laken.
Michael always said to play as hard as you work. He loved spending time with family and friends, always making us laugh, doing magic tricks with the children, and never missing an opportunity to DANCE. If you were lucky enough to know him, you were LUCKY enough. Dance on Michael.
A Celebration of Life has been scheduled for December 20, 2025 at 11:00 am at Hope Church located at 1114 Scituate Avenue, Cranston, RI 02921.
