Obituary for Raymond Klein
Klein, Raymond

1940-2020

Raymond J Klein, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2020. Ray was born on September 19, 1940 in Syracuse, New York to the late Raymond and Katherine (Yaschak) Klein. Ray was a Freemason and past member of the Jaycees in Reynoldsburg Ohio. Ray was a graduate of Rider University and former baseball player for the Broncs. Ray was in the sporting goods sales early in his life for Wilson sporting goods and AMF bowling equipment. Ray retired from Anheuser-Busch, Inc. (Columbus, Ohio) and was a proud Teamster local 284 member. Ray was an enormous sports fan watching his Ohio State Buckeyes, New York Yankees, Green Bay Packers, and Syracuse Orangeman. Ray was an avid motor sports fan taking trips with his sons to Indianapolis, Daytona, & other motorsports venues to watch NASCAR & drag racing. Ray loved motorsports and always reminded his family of his beloved 62 Corvette he once owned. He is preceded in his passing by his parents and devoted wife of 52 years, Jane Ann (Garlock) Klein. Ray is survived by his loving sons Michael R. Klein and Kristopher D. (Heather) Klein; loving grandchildren Loren, Maya, Jenna, Tanner, and Mattingly; sister Karen Klein of Syracuse, NY and nieces Dawn (Jerry) Lavy, Kelly (Jim) Wilson, also of Syracuse. Ray is also survived by his loving in-laws and Garlock family, his close friends Steve (Kim) Lamb and countless friends he met throughout the years. Ray was a loyal and devoted family man who loved telling a great story and enjoying a cold beer. He would want his family and friends to remember him this way. A private family burial will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, we ask that friends and family consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or another favorite charity of their choice in his name, and most importantly have a beer for Ray.
