Obituary for Sandra Prochaska
Sandra Gips Prochaska, 85, of Winter Park, Florida, passed away on December 8, 2020. She was born to parents Sheldon and Celeste Hornbuckle, in 1935 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Sandra met Paul Gips in 1956. They were married on October 23, 1957 in Jacksonville, Florida. Together they raised three children: Daniel Gips, Douglas Gips, and David Gips.
Sandra is survived by her three sons Daniel, Douglas, and David, her nephew John Hornbuckle, her niece Beth Wilson-Nuckols, her grandchildren Quincy Gips, Jordan Gips, and Lauren Gips. Her daughter-in laws Brenda Gips and Martha Gips, and her ex-husband Paul Gips. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother, Shelly Hornbuckle, and her husband, Arthur Prochaska.
Sandra was a beautiful, friendly, spirited woman of many passions. Those passions included singing, dancing and enjoying the Florida coastline. Sandra was a friendly voice to many persons throughout her life and could always be counted upon to lift one's spirits when troubled. She was a deeply religious devoted member of the Catholic Church. Sandra attended services at Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church since 1966. In her later years, Sandra enjoyed watching 60 Minutes and drinking white wine on her porch while she visited with her neighbors.
A memorial service is scheduled for Friday December 11 at 1:00 PM at Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, Florida. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that you consider a donation to the Arthritis National Research Foundation at www.curearthritis.org
