Obituary for Steven Wright
Steven “Gump” Wright, a professional truck driver and previous PIO for Seminole County Fire Department, passed away on September 20, 2021 after a hard fought battle with Covid pneumonia.

Steve grew up in Alabama and Florida and loved the ocean, fishing, riding his motorcycle and working on anything mechanical. Steve was a fierce protector of his family and friends and his size could intimidate anyone but he was really a big teddy bear.
Steve’s happiest memories were of his brother hood at the fire department and the trucking industry.
Steve earned his nickname “Gump” from watching the movie Forrest Gump an unmatched amount of times and quoting the lines accurately at any opportunity. No one can ever match the way he said “Jen-aaaaay”. Steve had an infectious laugh and amazing sense of humor that will truly be missed.
At Steve’s request there will not be a formal funeral, however you are strongly encouraged to gather with your friends and have a whiskey in his honor. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Steve’s name to St Jude or an organization that supports PTSD or mental health support. These organizations held a special place in his heart.
To honor his wishes he will be cremated and placed in a Alabama Crimson Tide urn. Roll tide.

“What we once enjoyed
and deeply loved
we can never lose,
for all that we love deeply
becomes part of us”
-Helen Keller
