Obituary for Theodore Schievelbein

TED SCHIEVELBEIN

Theodore “Ted” Schievelbein passed away on June 26, 2024 in Orlando Florida after a brief and unexpected battle with cancer.

Ted was born on January 29, 1961 in Appleton, Wisconsin to James and Jeannette Schievelbein. Ted grew up in Appleton and Spring Valley, Illinois. He graduated from Appleton West High School in 1979 and the Lawrence Conservatory of Music in 1983. Ted was an excellent percussionist and was actively involved in the Americanos Drum and Bugle Corps for many years.

After graduation from Lawrence Ted embarked on a musical career playing drums professionally with several touring musical groups. He eventually transitioned to musical merchandising managing retail stores in Houston Texas, Fairfax Virginia, Anoka Minnesota and eventually back to Houston. Ted still played drums professionally during this time. Ted was the devoted father of his daughter and son, Hannah and Alec.

Ted was a dedicated “Cheesehead” and diehard Green Bay Packer fan. He was proud of his certificate showing he owned a share of the Packers.

Ted retired to Orlando, Florida in 2018 to be near his brother Paul and pursue his passion of golf. Ted was able to fulfill his dream of living on a golf course at the Fairways Country Club. Ted gained many good friends in this community and always had an interesting or funny story about life in this wonderful community. Ted had much fun working part time at the country club pro shop.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Alec. He is survived by his daughter Hannah McKenna (Dante) (St. Paul, MN), sister Joan Magolski (John) (Peoria, AZ), brothers Jack (Sherry) (Ridgefield, WA), Jay (Jeanie) (Granite Bay, CA), twin brother Todd (Farmingville, NY), and Paul (Pam) (Oviedo, Fl).

A memorial for Ted will be held at 5 PM on July 26th at the Fairways Country Club in Orlando.
