We remember Tyrese Joseph Spates—a bright, beautiful soul whose life, though short in years, was immeasurable in love, laughter, and impact.
From the day he was born, Tyrese radiated warmth. He was the kind of child who lit up a room—not with grand gestures, but with quiet joy, playful wit, funny faces and a heart wide enough to hold everyone he cared for. Born with Menke’s disease, Tyrese faced life with strength that made you pause, and a smile that made you stay. He didn’t let limits define him. Instead, he filled his days with wonder—doing, seeing, and loving with a depth far beyond his age.
Tyrese adored superheroes. Not just for their powers, but for their purpose. Mario made him laugh. Batman made him think. Iron Man sparked his curiosity. Spider-Man reminded him of responsibility. And Sonic—fast, bold, and free—mirrored his spirit. Through them, Tyrese saw the kind of bravery he carried every single day.
He was the treasured son of Tyrone Spates and Alecia Williams, the beloved brother of Wanya, Tailer, TT, Lateisha, and Tiffany, and the cherished grandson of Peggy and David Williams, Sarrah Spates, Crozet Wiley, and Wille Green. Tyrese was deeply loved by his nieces and nephews, who looked up to him with admiration and affection. In their giggles, questions, and wide-eyed wonder, Tyrese found joy—and they found a real-life hero.
He passed away peacefully, surrounded by the people who adored him. Even in his final moments, love wrapped around him like a cape, holding him close as he found rest.
A celebration of Tyrese’s life will be held at Compassionate Cremations and Funerals, located at 320 N Central Ave, Oviedo, FL 32765, on Saturday, August 9, at 1:00 pm.
A reception will follow at Capistrano Condominium Clubhouse, located at 200 Maitland Ave, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701, beginning at 3:30 pm.
Tyrese leaves behind memories filled with laughter, wisdom beyond his years, and a quiet kind of heroism that forever changed those lucky enough to know him. His story isn't over—it lives in every heart he touched and every life he made brighter.
In honor of Tyrese’s joyful love for superheroes, guests are invited to wear superhero shirts or semi-casual attire—come as you are, but feel free to celebrate his spirit with the heroes he adored most.
