Obituary for Vicki Chaffee

Vicki Lynn Chaffee (Lanum) went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2025, surrounded by her family at home.

Vicki was preceded in death by her loving husband, Davis E. Chaffee (August 31, 2024), her parents Robert E. Lanum and Phyllis A. Lanum, her parents-in-law, Alton B. Chaffee and Mary E. Chaffee, daughter Christine A. Ordway, son-in-law Jeffrey N. Pace, grandsons, Michael C. Mahr, Jason C. Albury, and James (Jimbo) H. Albury, III.

Vicki is survived by her children Kimberly K. Albury (James), Deborah L. Pace, Daniel A. Chaffee (Denise) and Scott M. Chaffee (Teresa), and son-in-law Chris Ordway. She is also survived by her sisters Patty A. Lanum and Connie J. Pepon. Her grandchildren, Matthew R. Mahr (Carly), Mark A. Sallee (Emily), Melanie A. Sallee, Amber R. Albury, Tiffanie D. Albury, Mackenzie L. Pace, Lexi N. Pace, Aiden N. Pace, Ashley L. Mulder, Jeremy C. Ordway (Justine), Adam D. Chaffee (Daisy), and Kristina Escobar (Rene).

Vicki also leaves behind many loving great grandchildren, extended family members, friends and a community that will deeply miss her compassionate spirit.

Vicki was born on January 4, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Danbury High School in Lakeside, OH in1965. Vicki married Davis, the love of her life, on March 9, 1980, in Las Vegas, NV and they moved their family to Florida in 1982.

Vicki had a heart for others and spent time volunteering with Advent Health in Ocala. She was a light for everyone she met—known for her kindness and the way she made others feel truly seen and loved. Her warmth filled every room, and her compassion touched countless lives.

She loved spending time with her family and sharing laughter around the dinner table. Her faith, strength, and gentle spirit were a constant source of comfort to those who knew her.

A celebration of Vicki’s life will be held at Tall Timbers RV Park Clubhouse, 14575 N.E. 21st Street, Silver Springs, FL on October 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Following the celebration of life, all are invited to join family and friends for a potluck luncheon.

Vicki’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she loved.
