William “Bill” Powell, age 89, has passed away and now in the arms of Jesus, after a 20 year+ battle with Alzheimer’s. He is no longer suffering but rejoicing in Heaven with his Savior!
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret “Peggy” Powell, his 4 daughters and their spouses: Ruth & Herb Vogelhut, Sharon & John Blackman, Kendra & Kendall Collins, Linda & Willie Wilson, their 12 grandchildren: Jennifer, Jessica, Andrea, Jamie, Brittany, Brandon, Jeriann, Devon, Stephen, Mindy, Austin, Megan, and their 7 great grandchildren: Aiden, Triston, Xarian, Julia, Hunter, Lincoln, Jonathan (and 2 more baby boys on the way).
Bill was a man of many talents, jobs & hobbies. He served in the US Navy 1955-1959, over his career he was an electronic technician, Realtor, owned an auto repair shop “Mr. Tune Up”, did cost accounting, and was a comptroller at the Space Center. When the family moved to Oviedo in 1983, he built Peggy a Greenhouse and loved his little farm of animals: goats, cows, chickens, pigs and more! In his later years he really enjoyed drawing & painting birdhouses and crafts. Dad spent the last 10 years in a nursing home, and we have peace that he has a permanent address change to Heaven now.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on June 17th at The Storehouse Church in Fern Park, FL at 2pm.
