Obituary for Alexander Howard II
Alexander “Alex” S. Howard, II, age 70 Years, of Sanford, Florida passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on June 22, 1951 to Alexander “Smith” Howard, Sr and Marion Bingham Howard. Alex faithfully served in our Nation's Army both in the United States and in Germany. Following his service in the Army, Alex worked for the Department of Defense, Naval Air Warfare Center, Training Systems Division until his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Ohio State Alumni Club of Central Florida where he was a past president and volunteered in many capacities. He was also a member of Disabled American Veterans. In recent years he had a small etching business, was an avid gardener, and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, A Smith Howard, mother, Marion B Howard, and brother, Matthew Howard.
Alex is survived by his beloved Wife, Cheryl Howard (nee Scott); Stepchildren, Spencer Colwell, Robert (Trese) Colwell, Jennifer (Ricardo) Inigo, Heather (James Jonathan) Clayton, Joshua (Hieuhanh) Cox, and Andrea (Philip) Metz; Grandchildren, Rhys, Molly, and Norah; brother, Russell (Cindy) Howard; and a host of other family members and friends.
In loving memory of Alex, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Disabled American Veterans, St Baldrick’s Foundation, or the charity of one’s choice.
A Celebration of Alex’s Life will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Lake Mills Park, Pavilion 4, 1301 Tropical Avenue, Chuluota, FL 32766
