Fran Jenson Caldwell passed away on August 13, 2024, after a long and brave battle with cancer. Born on April 18, 1962, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Fran was the daughter of David P. Kitto (deceased) and Rosemary Catherine (Hoffman) Kitto and sister to David P. Kitto Jr. Her family moved to Chester, PA, and then settled in Newark, Delaware, where she graduated from high school before pursuing her nursing degree at the University of Delaware. After graduating she devoted her career to Christiana Care Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. Fran was an immensely proud mother of three children; Eric Jenson, Angie Jenson, and Alex Jenson, each of whom also graduated from the University of Delaware. Fran shared a loving companionship with her husband, Salvatore Caldwell, and they had been inseparable since their meeting in April of 2016. They cherished their time traveling together and exchanged vows at Outlaw Square in Deadwood, South Dakota. They moved together to Oviedo, Florida, where Fran found her purpose working in the NICU unit with child cancer patients in Oncology. Her patients adored her for her compassionate care. She welcomed, loved, and embraced her role as a stepmother to Tanya Scannelli and Jennifer Reichenbach, and she treasured her six grandchildren. Throughout it all, Fran's strength came from her deep love for her family and her unwavering faith. To honor Fran, in lieu of a memorial service, we kindly ask that those who wish to pay tribute consider donating to a cancer treatment charity of their choosing in her name.
